About the South End Youth Basketball League
Our Story
The South End Youth Basketball League was started in 2014 by Matt Friedman and Tim Head to provide a safe and fun basketball experience for players of all ages. Now in its thirteenth season, SEYBL offers three co-ed divisions for players aged 4-13.
Our MIssion
The mission of the South End Youth Basketball League is to provide an accessible and welcoming program where young athletes of all abilities can learn the game, develop their skills, compete, and grow as teammates. Rooted in the South End and powered by community volunteers, SEYBL emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, personal development, and fun while ensuring that every child has the opportunity to play.
Our Partner
SEYBL partners with Cathedral High School, an independent, co-ed, 7th through 12th grade Catholic high school in Boston’s historic South End. 100% of the proceeds from SEYBL go to support Cathedral High School Athletics.
